Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about booking private ski and snowboard lessons in Bansko with Ski Professor.

Booking & Payment

How do I book a ski lesson?

Browse instructors, choose your dates, and pay a 20% deposit to confirm your booking. The instructor will contact you on WhatsApp to confirm the meeting point and session details.

What payment methods do you accept?

Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard) via secure online payment. The 20% deposit is charged at booking; the balance is paid before your first lesson.

Is the deposit refundable?

A full refund is issued automatically if your booking is declined by the instructor. The deposit is non-refundable for voluntary cancellations or no-shows. Exceptions are made for documented medical incapacity, resort closure, or cancelled flights — see our Refund Policy for details.

Can I book for a group?

Yes — you can book for up to 4–6 people from the same group in a single booking. Adding more people to a private lesson is more economical than separate bookings.

How far in advance should I book?

Peak weeks (last week of December, February school holidays) fill up 4–6 weeks ahead. For standard weeks, 1–2 weeks is usually fine. If your dates are fixed, book early.

Lessons & Mountain Logistics

Where do lessons meet in Bansko?

The exact meeting point is confirmed in your booking. Most lessons start at the gondola top station or the Plato learning area (for beginners and young children). Your instructor will send a WhatsApp message the evening before with the exact spot and time.

What happens in bad weather?

Lessons run in most weather conditions — Bansko's gondola and covered Plato area shelter beginners from wind. In genuinely dangerous weather (closed lifts, heavy fog, storm), the instructor will contact you to reschedule or refund.

Is a lift pass included?

No — Bansko ski passes are purchased separately at the resort. Your instructor can advise on the right pass for your lesson days.

Do I need to rent equipment?

If you don't own ski or snowboard gear, equipment rental is widely available in Bansko town. Your instructor can recommend a reliable shop and advise on boot fitting — this is included free with every booking.

How long are lessons?

Lessons are booked per hour. Most clients book 2-hour sessions. Full-day sessions (5–6 hours) are available for intensive coaching or off-piste guiding.

Can my child ski with me in the same lesson?

Yes — family private lessons are available. Parents and children ski together with one instructor. The instructor will tailor the session to the range of levels in the group.
